This issue of the BCS newsletter reviews the initial event of the Building Comprehensive Solutions to Domestic Violence Connecting to Build Comprehensive Solutions Institute.&The Connecting Institute Tampa Seminar, held November 2004, is the featured story. This main article summarizes activities, philosophy, and highlights of the Connecting Institute's kick-off gathering of 15 (fifteen) state teams.& Lessons learned are highlighted. The Housing Discrimination Study 2000 (HDS 2000) represents the most ambitious effort to date to measure the extent of housing discrimination in the United States against persons because of their race or color.
