Research Designs in the Real World: Testing the Effectiveness of an IPV Intervention

This article describes a study of the Lethality Assessment Program (LAP), which is a partnership between law enforcement agencies and domestic violence service providers developed by the Maryland Network Against Domestic Violence. The article discusses why a randomized controlled trial would not be an appropriate method to use to study such a program and how the study used a quasi-experimental design instead.
