WEBINAR: Addressing the Needs of Youth Experiencing Homelessness and Abuse

This webinar focused on the intersections of relationship violence and sex trafficking among runaway and homeless youth. Experts in this field of service suggested a variety of ways that individuals, organizations, and communities can provide effective support to youth experiencing violence and abuse while living in unstable housing situations. A brief presentation on ACF’s RHY & Relationship Violence Toolkit was conducted, including its new section on minor sex trafficking and practice tools to build successful collaborations. FYSB grantees, as well as service providers working with youth, homeless services, intimate partner violence, sexual violence and the general public were encouraged to participate.

• Deena Policicchio, Director of Outreach and Education Services for Alternative for Girls, an organization that uses a peer education model to assist girls and women experiencing homelessness.
• Tina Frundt, Executive Director/Founder of Courtney’s House, where every survivor of sex trafficking can receive survivor-focused, trauma-informed, holistic services.
